So what we thought we would do is close our time, lots of Bible today, Tim, by reading the

entire sermon on the Mount in the message version. The message was a version written by Eugene

Peterson. I don't call it necessarily a translation. Translations are committees and lots of scholarship,

and Eugene certainly was a scholar, but it's colloquial language. And I don't necessarily

agree with all the ways he translates certain words or whatever. But I wanted to read it

from this version so that we would hear it afresh. And if you don't want to

listen to, that's why it probably takes 15 minutes to read out loud. But I was thinking about

the series of conversations we did, what, three or four years ago and how changing that was,

you know, for me.

And I'm just, the invigoration I feel is reinvigoration towards this. Like this is the, this is, this is what we're to be about.

So, Matthew chapter five, Matthew chapter six,

Matthew chapter seven in the silky, smooth voice.

And Tim, I want you to amen for yes, Lord, as we go.

Anything that jumps out at you.

When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside.

Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed,

climbed up with him. Arriving in a quiet place, he sat down and he taught his climbing companions.

This is what he said. Now, if you're in a place where you can kind of close your eyes and stay

focused, like just let this vision of human life wash over you.

This is what he said.

You're blessed when you're at the end of your rope.

With less of you, there is more of God and his rule.
