0:00.0 | Good morning. It's Sunday, July 6th. I'm Ali Valshi. We are expecting a news conference to begin any minute now in central Texas where rescue and recovery operations continue after Friday's catastrophic flash flooding along the Guadalupe River. State and local officials say the death toll now stands at 53 across five counties. |
0:21.3 | They say they don't have an exact count of the total number of people still missing, |

1:47.9 | caused a 25-foot surge in the Guadalupe River. That's how flash floods work, so you have to |
1:54.1 | take these seriously. As I mentioned, we are awaiting an update from officials in Kerr County. |
1:59.3 | That's the county that's hardest hit by the flooding. |
2:01.8 | I want to bring you that news conference when it starts. And I apologize in advance. I may have to |
