The Hillsdale Dialogues underway, the last Radio Hour of the Week, this week we asked

back, we had so much fun with Dean Matt Spalding, who helms the Kirby Center Graduate Program

on statesmanship to come back after we had a display of, well, I won't call it statesmanship

on Wednesday night.

But I wanted to ask Dr. Spalding, who's a little under the weather, and I appreciate

you're getting up, a general reaction to the debate on Wednesday night, Dean Spalding.

Oh, well, good morning, you could be with you, sorry about the voice, I have to say I

was pretty generally disappointed with the whole thing, a lot of talking over each other

wasn't well-managed, not much of issues came out at all, unfortunately, I'd like to see

some good serious debate between some of these candidates, but we didn't have it today

on Wednesday night.

Why do you think that is?

Because the moderators are trying to get five courts into a single gallon in terms of

questions, is it because of the right of reply, is it because of silliness on the part

of the candidates?
