I've got a humorous short story for you today written by Caroline M. S Kirkland, called

It gives us a good picture of what schools were like in the mid-19th century.

In some ways, they're very, very much different as society and the rules of society were also different.

But in many ways, they're the same as today, only without internet.

Master William Horner came to our village to teach school when he was about 18 years old.

Tall, length, straight-sided, and straight-haired, with a mouth of the most puckered and solemn

kind. His figure and movements were those of a puppet cut out of a shingle and jerked
