And friends, today I'm excited. We are jumping back into our series in the book of Romans.

We're beginning in Romans chapter 9 verse number one. So get out your Bibles, get out your

morning mindset journals if you have one. And we are going to be digging in in just a

moment but before we do we need to pray because we need god's help to give us insight into what he's

saying our lord and our god we are grateful for your word we're grateful that you teach us you

instruct us and you actually illuminate

us regarding the things we see going on around us and the things that have happened in history.

So today, as we begin reading about the history of the nation of Israel and what your heart is

toward them, we ask you to open our ears and our minds that we may hear and have our hearts encouraged.

We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen.

Now, friends, I don't have to tell you there is a very sad situation going on over in the nation of Israel and in the Palestinian region.

Back in October of last year, terrorists attacked the country of Israel in a despicable way, destroying life, abusing people, all kinds of things, thousands of people killed and many taken hostage.

And Israel has been retaliating ever since. This war has been going on for a long, long time.

And friends, today's passage has to do with Israel. But we have to recognize the way that Paul

begins to use that word, that title, Israel, is not the way we are used to hearing it used in our news stories of the day.
