Hey everyone, welcome to The Rough Corner. This is the little episode that sits in between the main We Can Be Weirdo's shows, where I get to go through last week's episode, think about what was said, talk about the weirdnesses from my week, and also read out some correspondence that you, the listener, have sent in. I did promise that this week was going to be a

catch-up with producer Spooky Al, but unfortunately, I have been enlisted for some secret government

business. I'm not allowed to talk about it at the moment. Highly secretive. Could get in a lot of

trouble, so I have to just keep my mouth shut for now. And once it's all over, I'll reveal what it is.

But yeah, it means I can't get into London at the moment.

And so can't get into a room without to find out what he's been up to.

So in the meantime, I wanted to explore something else that happened this week, which caught my eye.

Which is that a person I follow on Twitter called

Kelly Carlin sent out a few tweets, where she seemed very pissed off with something that

had just happened, which is that AI has made an original comedy special, all new material,

an hour long, mimicking George Carlin and presenting it as if this was a show beyond the grave.

Now, obviously, we know it's AI. It's not claiming anything else. However, it is a bit weird and it's a bit odd what's happening

with AI. And it is the big debate at the moment about how people are using it in the world of the

arts. And Kelly was particularly annoyed, you know, there's plenty of shows of George Carlin out there for people to check out. And by the way, they should. I mean, I don't know if you know George Carlin, but this guy was extraordinary. One of the great heroes of stand-up comedy. He started at a time when it was people like Richard Pryor. He was sort of following on the heels of other greats like Lenny Bruce. He was a counterculture

comedian. He sort of started in a very famous double act, but then found his own voice,

was swearing on stage, talking about things that people didn't talk about. It led to a few arrests.

And actually, it was one of the arrests that I wanted to get a bit more detail about one day

when I was writing my book, the theory of

everything else. I got stuck on a fact about George Carlin, and I put it out on Twitter just to say,

does anyone have any idea if this is true? It was to do with the JFK assassination, and someone tagged

Kelly Carlin into the tweet, and she got back to me and said, yeah, what do you want to know? So effectively,
