He wrote the book American Addict.

Dr. Gregory A. Smith, he's also from the movie of the same title uh i believe

the book came first and uh he hits on an important issue i think uh back in the day everybody

knew a recovering alcoholic and and whatnot today it seems like pills is is a new addiction i think uh

in the 60s and 70s everybody heard about drug overdose from uh rock stars and stuff and now it seems

like celebrities

you know pills is a new big issue and and I think that he's doing a pretty uh ballsy thing talking

about uh just the issue and and and uh really not holding back so uh I just want to thank uh

Hey, thanks. Hey, just one statistic that you've mentioned a lot in interviews and in the movie,

and I think it's really important because I think it kind of highlights how big of an issue this is, is the fact that the U.S. is 5% of the world's population, and I think we consume 80% of the world's prescriptions, or something like, it's similar to that? Well, it's 80% of the world's prescription, hydrocodone, which are drugs like Vicodin and Norco, and 50% of the world's prescriptions in general, which is, which is insane. I mean, this is, there's no way that this is just a coincidence.

This is a purposeful thing.

It's a by design.

And if people don't know this information to protect themselves, it's, it's going to reap

havoc on their lives and the people that they care about.

And why, I mean, I know that one thing that people don't realize is that, well, one, we're one of two countries, I believe, that actually can market directly to consumers.

Is that correct?

That is correct.
