Summary

We believe as Catholics that at every Mass the simple bread and wine are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit into the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus.

But do we need to receive both species, namely the Eucharist and the Precious Blood in order to receive ALL of Jesus?

0:09.8	at Mass obviously in person. Hopefully everyone is able to go to Mass in person wherever you are in the
0:14.5	world. The next step is a lot of dioceses are going back to being able to offer our Lord in
0:21.4	the Eucharist under both species. That means under the form of the sacred body of our Lord
0:26.4	and under the form of bread and the precious blood of our Lord under what looks like wine, right? But
0:32.0	the actual substance has changed. We know this when it comes to the Eucharist that at the last
0:35.6	supper when Jesus said this is my body, this is my blood about the bread and about the wine. That
0:39.6	transformed. In fact, we'll, I guess the technical term is transubstantiation, right? Where the
0:44.2	substance changes. The what it is of the things like the bread of the wine that changes. The
0:50.3	accidents, what it looks like, what it tastes like, all those things, those remain the same. But the
0:54.4	substance is no longer bread. It's actually our Lord's body and the wine is no longer wine. It
0:59.6	actually is our Lord's blood. Now, here's the interesting thing is that as we go back to
1:04.7	kind of more things being kind of semi-normal after the pandemic, we're going to have the precious
1:10.0	blood being offered. Now, a couple things about that. One is people would ask the question of like,
1:15.8	wait, so Jesus said, eat my body, drink my blood. You have to do this if you want to have eternal
1:20.1	life. Yes, but we haven't been able to receive the precious blood for a couple years now.
1:26.8	Where we, where we're missing out. And the answer is, you know, our Lord is fully present. Body
1:32.0	blood, soul and divinity under either species, right? So if you have even a crumb of our Lord and
1:37.0	the Eucharist, the the sacred body of our Lord, that's the full Jesus. That's the body blood, soul
1:41.2	divinity. He is fully present, even in a crumb of the blessed sacrament. And he's also fully present,
1:48.5	body blood, soul divinity, even in one drop of the precious blood. So, so it's not as if you only
