On the morning of September 11, 2001, flight attendant Betty Ong was working American Airlines Flight 11.

Barely 15 minutes after the aircraft left Boston Logan Airport,

Ong alerted ground-based authorities that something was very, very wrong.

The cockpit's not answering. Somebody stabbed in business class. And I think there's mates that we can't breathe. I don't know. I think we'll get in hijack.

It's been almost a quarter century, but hearing Ong's brave calm still gives me chills.

Well, shortly after Ong's alert, someone from the cockpit began communicating with Boston ground control.

Is that American 11 trying to call?
