Summary

Let’s talk about a potential cause of autism and some things to do if you or a loved one has autism. Autism involves inflammation in the brain and a lot of free radical damage without enough antioxidant protection. Autism spectrum disorder has also been associated with mitochondrial dysfunction, high homocysteine, and amino acid abnormalities. Common deficiencies in those with autism spectrum disorder: • Antioxidants (especially glutathione) • Vitamin A • Vitamin E • Vitamin D • Zinc • Selenium • Magnesium • Omega-3 fatty acids Based on this data, here are a few tips for those with autism: 1. Get on the carnivore diet (include eggs, seafood, shellfish, organ meats, and microgreens or sprouts) 2. Increase glutathione by consuming NAC and selenium 3. Take cod liver oil to get omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin A, and vitamin D 4. Consume vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) and folate (methylfolate) 5. Take CoQ10 and Methylene Blue

The real underlying deeper cellular cause of autism involves oxidative stress to neurons

0:08.3

leading to neuronal toxicity and inflammation.

0:12.1

Basically, there's inflammation in the brain and there's a lot of free radical damage,

0:15.8

but there's not enough antioxidant protection to counter that.

0:21.6

Now, your body makes antioxidants and they can come from the diet.

0:25.6

But I did a huge deep dive into this topic and I found some really

0:29.6

interesting information on some common deficiencies with many people who have autism.

0:36.3

Number one, they tend to have low amounts of antioxidants.

0:39.6

I already mentioned that, especially glutathione.

0:42.4

That's the master antioxidant in the body that does a tremendous amount of work

0:47.2

in protecting you and getting rid of toxicity and free radical damage.

0:51.1

There's also low vitamin A, there's low vitamin E, low vitamin D,

0:56.3

there's low zinc, selenium, low magnesium, and low omega-3.

1:02.5

There's also mitochondrial dysfunction, which is not surprising,

1:06.4

because anytime you have oxidative stress, you're going to have problems

1:09.8

in the mitochondria, deep within the neuron.

1:13.1

And there's also something called high homocysteine, which you may connect with heart problems,

1:19.2

but in this case, it can create degenerative symptoms in the brain.

1:23.9

And the solution for that is B12 in folate in a certain form, which I'll cover in a bit.

1:30.7

And there's also amino acid abnormalities,

1:34.9

probably because of all the oxidation going on.

1:37.2

These amino acids are really important because they actually the raw material
