0:06.2	Evolve podcast. It has been a minute since I have sat down at this microphone, and I'll be
0:14.1	honest, since the last time that I did, my world just feels very, very different.
0:28.8	For those of you who may not know, last Sunday when my dad was speaking, at the benediction of his message,
0:34.6	he had what at the time was just this unexplainable slur in his speech.
0:41.1	He kind of slumped over. I was watching from home and they cut the live stream. I had no idea, like many of the people who were watching online, what was happening.
0:46.8	Obviously, no one had their phone on them in the heat of the moment. And so it wasn't until I figured
0:53.5	out which hospital he was going to and went to the emergency room that I understood what he was up against.
1:00.3	And while I know so many people love him and want details about what happened, I will say, you know, health issues are private.
1:10.0	It was life-threatening.
1:12.0	It wasn't a stroke, which is what I thought it was when I was watching on the live
1:15.4	stream, but that was one of the first things that they cleared.
1:18.8	But it really was, I think, a call to rest, a call to slowing down. And I think anytime something happens that is life-threatening,
1:31.7	I mean, he was in ICU for a couple of days. It's also just an opportunity for reflection.
1:38.8	And in that reflection, I, man, I'm still reflecting. This was just, I mean, this time last week, he was still
1:47.9	an ICU, but I will say that I have been reflecting on our relationship, my father and I's
1:55.7	relationship, who he has been to me, the areas where I felt like maybe there was a void in our dynamic
2:07.7	and what can I do with the time that we have left to heal, restore, reconcile.
2:15.7	So all while that was going on, I also realized that as the assistant senior pastors
2:21.5	of the Potter's House Dallas, that there was also a shift in, I believe my responsibility
2:28.1	to the people were called to serve. I wish I could say that we were just in Dallas because my
2:33.2	dad asked me to come to Dallas and we were here to, you know, do what daddy asked us to do.
