Canada has just adopted a new ban on so-called conversion therapy, which criminalizes any

practice, treatment, or service designed to change, repress, or reduce a person's same-sex attraction

or transgender identity. According to World, the ban covers even the mildest forms of talk therapy,

including counseling for adults who want to detransition.

In effect, Canada is denying that people exist who detransition or that anyone could legitimately

want help reconciling themselves with their biological sex.

Offering the service is now punishable by up to five years in prison.

The lack of science here staggering.

Canadian clinical psychologist James Canter points out,

there's not a single study that shows harm from so-called transgender conversion therapy.

In fact, it could be desperately needed since up to 80% of minors with gender dysphoria will desist at puberty.

The law doesn't protect patients.

It only protects the convenient fiction that transgender feelings are unchangeable.

We know this to be false.

Canadian lawmakers want to pretend detransitioners don't exist.

That's a denial of reality,

like believing someone can change their biological sex in the first place.
