Proverbs Chapter 11,

1 through 11.

A balance is an abomination to the Lord,

but a just wait is his delight. When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with

the humble is wisdom. The integrity of the upright guides, but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.

Ritches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

The righteousness of the blameless keeps his way straight, but the wicked falls by his own wickedness.

The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the treacherous are taken captive by their lust.

When the wicked dies, his hope perishes, and the expectation of the godless comes to not.

The righteous is delivered from trouble and the wicked gets into it instead.

With his mouth, the godless man would destroy his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.

When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices, and when the wicked perish, there are shouts of gladness.

By the blessing of the upright, a city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

we've been moving now from the inside to the outside of life in these past three weeks. The Lord takes pleasure in those who hope in his steadfast love.

The Lord delights in the prayers of the upright.

The Lord delights more in obedience than in sacrifice. Hope is the deepest thing within.

It gives expression outwardly in prayer. And the obedience we looked at last week is all out in the open.

And so we're moving from the inside out as we examine those things in human life which God

delights in. Today we move out one last step to that part of life which is not

ordinarily considered religious. You might call it the secular part of your life,

meaning the part in which you have ordinary dealings with the world, you might call it the business
