It's time for another edition of Fighting for the Faith.

It's Monday, August 3rd 2009 and I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was restful and

even had the bonus of Tiger Woods winning the Buick open.

It, you know, doesn't get any better than that, right?

I know some of you're saying golf you watch golf on TV I would rather watch mud bubble and paint dry. Yeah, I get it. I understand. It's not for every wedding. It's an acquired

taste. Thanks for tuning in. You're listening to fighting for the faith. My name is

Chris Roseboro and I am your servant in Jesus Christ. And what do we do here at fighting for the faith? We dish up a daily

dose of biblical discernment and compare what people are saying and doing, if you would, in the

name of God, to the word of of God to see if really what's being

taught out there is true biblical Christianity and sound biblical Christian doctrine or if it's, well, you know, something completely different.

Now, that means that the job that we do here is radically politically incorrect. There are some who just say it's it's just judgmental and you can't do that because Jesus said

judge not lest you be judged. No that's not what passage means. Go and look at it up in context. We might end up having to do an official response to it. We do that I think periodically. I've done it once before I'll have to do it again. But that's not what that passage teaches.

Instead, we do what the Burian Church did. The Apostle Paul, when he went to the town of Berea, went into the synagogue there and proclaimed that

Jesus Christ was the Messiah, the promised Messiah of Israel and that he had risen from the

dead and that they were he was offering them

forgiveness of sins and called them to repent of their wickedness and trust in

Christ for the forgiveness of their sins. Now keep in mind we're talking about the apostle Paul here. Now he's no slouch. In fact I would

consider him to be greater than any of today's modern preachers and what did the

Borean church do with the message

they received from the apostle Paul they said you know what you seem like a nice

guy but what we're going to do is we're going to take this good news that you've

given us and we're going to compare what
