Silverman, and he published in May 2021, very timely important book on an important subject. The title of the book is The Opioid Epidemic. What you don't know will destroy your family and your life. Very true statement considering what's going on with the prevalence of this drug and so many people who've lost their lives,

especially during COVID, which he points out in his book.

But he can talk more about that.

I really appreciate the opportunity. This is a difficult topic and not an easy subject.

And the only way that we're going to reduce stigma around self-medication and addiction is to talk about it.

So I really, really appreciate the opportunity to have a platform where we can talk about it.

So I wasn't sure you wanted me to go that quickly, but I'm all set.

So let me just a little bit about me. I live here in San Diego. I get phone calls, texts, and emails from

around the world. And I am a crisis coach and a interventionist and a family navigator. I also

run an outpatient substance abuse treatment center called Confidential Recovery. And I am a SME, subject matter expert around the opioid crisis and

addiction, accessing help, and finding ways to help families navigate to get to the best and highest

level of care. So that's kind of what I do. How I got here, I'm a guy in long-term recovery.
