Talk to me about how people should conceptualize the moment we're in, sort of how we got here,

whether we are in a crisis. I think we are well past a constitutional crisis.

I think we're like people who keep saying to me, you know, are we going to hit a constitutional

crisis?

I'm like, constitutional crisis was like three exits back.

You're a very prominent scholar of history and African American studies and American politics.
