Have you ever thought that for every 10 minutes you spend in your Bible each day, you spend

0:04.7

1,430 minutes outside of your Bible? So the question is, do you feel equipped to engage with

today's culture where you spend the vast majority of your time? The truth is, if you're a Christian,

you're an outsider. I know you feel like an outsider, but do you know

that God's called you to be an outsider? He wants you to be a joyful outsider. Now, not all

outsiders are the same. You can discover how God has uniquely called you to engage with today's

need, but I don't often recognize how much I need it. And I think you're going to agree that you need

1:24.2

this too. But it's wisdom. Like you can Google information. You can go to the

internet and get knowledge, but you can't Google wisdom. We're told that we live in the knowledge

economy. We're told that we live in the information age. But no one ever says we live in the age of

1:40.5

wisdom. Wisdom is rare. But maybe you need wisdom navigating difficult relationships.

1:47.4

Or maybe you need wisdom deciding if you should change jobs. Or maybe you need wisdom and whether to

trust a friend who's betrayed you. Or maybe you need wisdom to make an investment. I know this. Every

parent needs wisdom when it comes to raising their children. So you probably agree with me that we all need wisdom to live our life. Since we all need wisdom, I wonder why we don't ask God for it more than we do. My guess is it's because we think we can handle most things on our own. We ask God for wisdom for the big things, but not the everyday things. Let me give you an example.
