In the book of 1 Corinthians, Paul tells the church, if anyone thinks that he knows

anything, he knows nothing yet as he should know.

In other words, if we think we know it all, we really don't know anything.

So how do you know whether or not what you believe is true?

Is it because you discover it yourself and trust your own opinion or is there a better way?

All right, so today I want to talk about epistemology.

It's one of the few big words I remember from seminary, but I remember because it was

like the first day since when you were still paying attention.

And I didn't know the word back then, but comes from Pistuot to believe, like what, it's

basically the theory of knowledge.

And I think it's huge because it's basically, how do you know you're right?

Like how do you attain truth?

And the reason why I think this is huge is because everyone thinks they're right and

this is causing so much division in the church and when people have an opinion, it's like,

there's so much absolute, like I know what I believe is true.

And I feel like there's been so much of that in me and there still is.

Now the way I used to think was that I should go in my office with the Bible, pray to God,

and study by myself and when I come out, I will have the truth.
