Summary

Today we welcome one of my best friends onto the podcast, Ariana! After discovering we were both pregnant and due within months of each other, we had plans, BIG plans, for how this would look and be for each of us. A pandemic... had other plans. For Ariana, this was her first birth, and a birth of twins, who came premature when she went into labour on her birthday. The rollercoaster of emotions, and the reality that was a twin birth, a month in NICU and so much more was something I wanted to sit down and talk with her about, unpack, and share in the moments of it all. I’m so happy she came on and opened up her story to us today.

0:42.2	of my friendship with Ariana, I'm going to take you back about six years when I showed up for
0:47.9	a job interview at a restaurant and saw this beautiful girl with the most stunning eyebrows
0:54.1	I've ever seen and immediately decided that she must be a bitch because pretty girls can't possibly
0:59.2	be nice girls. I was so grateful to be wrong because in the weeks following and in the months
1:05.2	following while my world and life changed completely. I remember sitting one time after my shift
1:11.4	and she asked how things were going for me and she ended up being one of the first people that I
1:16.2	told that I had actually recently left an 11 year marriage and we didn't really know each other
1:21.1	at this point. We were kind of just co-workers to be honest and I was 30. She would have been 21
1:28.2	and she started showing up for me in the most amazing ways helping me host birthday parties,
1:34.3	taking the kids grocery shopping for me, just hanging out with us and making me feel less alone
1:39.2	every step of the way. Within a year of each other, we got engaged and we got married to two guys
1:44.5	who happened to be friends but we met them separately and went into her wedding last January. I
1:50.0	served as a bride made in her wedding last January in St. Lucia and right after that we joked about
1:55.9	the fact that they're going to have a baby maybe we should try for a baby too and I honestly didn't
2:01.1	think that that dream and this joke that we had made or this kind of dreaminess that we had around
