Summary

Dr. Edith Eger was just a teenager in 1944 when she experienced one of the worst evils the human race has ever known. As a Jew living in Nazi-occupied Eastern Europe, she and her family were sent to Auschwitz, the heinous death camp. Her parents were sent to the gas chambers but Edith’s bravery kept her and her sister alive. Toward the end of the war Edith and other prisoners had been moved to Austria. On May 4, 1945 a young American soldier noticed her hand moving slightly amongst a number of dead bodies. He quickly summoned medical help and brought her back from the brink of death. 1:46.5	12 Lessons to Save Your Life that speaks meaningfully to what so many people are feeling and
1:51.1	grappling this year and it emphasizes the power of enduring hope, even when the mile mark seems
1:56.0	to endlessly push away. At 16, Edith's world was tragically changed, as Nazi soldiers
2:01.8	raided their home and upon arrival at death camp her parents were immediately sent to the gas chamber
2:06.5	and she never saw them again. She endured awful conditions while at camp until May 4th of 1945
2:13.4	when liberation came and they were rescued by American troops. Edith went on to get married,
2:18.2	raised three children and earned her college degree, her masters, and became a world-renowned
2:22.4	psychologist. She speaks on trauma, hope, resilience, self-talk, mindset, self-parenting,
