Summary

Lena loved the old apartment above the row of downtown shops. The building had character—tall ceilings, creaky wood floors, and the quiet charm that comes with older places.

But after moving in, she began noticing small things that didn’t quite make sense. Her dog would stare down empty hallways. Sometimes she felt like someone had just walked past her when no one else was home.

Then one night she woke up and saw a man standing quietly at the foot of the bed. At first, she convinced herself it had to be a dream. But over the next few weeks, other things began to happen—things Aaron eventually heard too.

And years later, after they moved out, someone else in the apartment would ask a question that brought everything back.
