And we're now kicking off season 3, episode 1 of the office.

So last week we had Casino Night this week we are taking a look at

the season of Premier of season three which aired September 21st, 2006.

They brought back Ken Quabas as a director for this one,

written by showrunner and creator of the US

version of the office, Greg Daniels.

And this is called gay witch hunt and before as we like

settle in and get cozy here you let's make sure we have our sleep timer set. You are letting the cares of the day wash away, cozy, warm, and ready for bed here. But, you know, something I've reflected on a few times is the quote that

Steve Corral said the office couldn't exist today in today's cultural environment.

And I think you could point to this episode and there's a couple of scenes in season two that points to some

level of insensitivity but I think the way that it's positioned in this show is that it's wrong already, right?

Like we cringe at it because Michael is unaware that it's

wrong, wrong, right? And so we're laughing almost with this show,

not at the show.

It's like, you know, I think the reason that I left the big bang theory early on is that it's like you're

supposed to laugh at the show but I think when comedies like this endure you're kind of laughing with the show or I think

that's at least what you know modern sitcoms and how they succeed but that's neither

here nor there thank you for coming to my TED Talk and

tonight I'm also very happy to report that I looked up the instrument that is used in the office theme song.

I think for the last like five episodes I said I don't know what it is.
