Would you turn please to our scripture, two openings, if you would, to the book of 1st Peter and then to the book of Malachi.

First Peter, 2, then we're going to Malachi.

We began a couple of weeks ago, a series we're calling the offerings of the Lord and this is very

important as all the word and like we said you know there are two sides to every subject in

the word there's god's side and there's our side.

And it's great for us to be believing him to do things in our life,

but we must do what he's told us to do.

Right?

We must do our part.

And so many of the scriptures, so-called promises of God, they start with an if.

If you'll do so-and-so, then this will happen.

Well, what if you don't?

Well, then you wouldn't be reasonable to expect it to happen.

For instance, Isaiah, if you'll be willing and obedient, you'll eat the good

of the land. Well, what if you're unwilling? What if you're disobedient? What if you're hard-headed?

You're going to do your own thing? You don't care what anybody thinks. Well, could you expect and should

you expect to eat the good of the land?

Well, no. In fact, the scripture says in the Psalms that the rebellious folks will dwell in a dry place.

Well, that's not the good of the land. How many of all the word is true? All of it's true. If it says you hard-headed and rebellious, you're going to dwell in a dry, empty

place, well, then that's true too.

You've got to put yourself in line with the word.
