If you would go with me to 1 Peter this morning, 1 Peter, the second chapter, we began, I guess what was it, two weeks ago now, a new series on sundays they were calling the offerings of the

lord and i tell you it's helping me meditating on these things and study now i knew they were

important but i didn't realize how important i'm seeing more all the time. In 1 Peter the second chapter, talking about the offerings of the Lord, 1 Peter 2 and 5.

He says, you also as lively stones are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices

acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

The Amplified says, come and like living stones, be yourselves built into a spiritual house.

There's that phrase in the King James, built up again.

Built up.

For a holy, dedicated, consecrated priesthood to offer up those spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ.

Have we been made kings and priests unto our God? We have been. Revelation says so.

We are a holy priesthood.

Well, in order to know what that means, and this, I've already got some things stirring in me that will affect this in time to come.

But the writers, the Holy Ghost, and then through the human writers of the New Testament,

assume that you know the Old Testament.

Have you noticed that?

Because there's references to it and they'll make like a reference to something and they assume you know what they're talking about.

Like the priest to it.

How would you know anything about the priesthood unless

you knew about leviticus right in exodus so if we neglect our old testament then we really are

don't have the foundation of understanding because the old testament is shadow and type of what is fulfilled

in the new.

And he said that we have been made a priesthood.
