| 1:12.0 | On 19th century maps showing the coast of Nova Scotia, Oak Island is seen with |
| 1:16.4 | Captain Kids Cove clearly marked, a tribute to how strong that legend was in |
| 1:21.2 | that region. A legend no doubt strengthened by the story |
| 1:24.9 | that a dying buccaneer admitted that he was one of kids crew who had helped bury a |
| 1:29.7 | treasure on an island off the northeastern Atlantic coast. |
| 1:34.0 | Although a number of artifacts have been discovered on Oak Island, however, |
| 1:38.0 | none seem to lead to Captain Kidd, or anyone else. |
| 1:42.0 | And Kidd did bury a chest loaded with treasure on Gardner's Island, |
| 1:46.4 | off Long Island, New York, a payment which he hoped would protect him from trouble, |
| 1:51.1 | but which did not. He was grabbed, imprisoned in London's infamous |
| 1:54.9 | Newgate, tried, and hung in the gibbets as a warning to future pirates. His remains |
| 2:00.4 | being left in those gibbets for all to see for three years. |
| 2:05.8 | At his trial he did try to buy his freedom by saying that he had cleverly hidden 20 million |
