But first, Cole Allen of Torrance, California, tried to run past security at the White House correspondent's dinner on Saturday night, armed with multiple guns and a knife.

But he was taken down by security.

Shots were fired.

He wasn't hit. A Secret Service

agent was hit, but he had on a bulletproof vest. No other injuries. The president and all of

his cabinet were whisked away by Secret Service. We're told by law enforcement his plan was to

shoot as many administration officials as possible.

The LA Times is reporting that he donated to the Democratic fundraising machine Act Blue.

And his final message to his family, sent 10 minutes before he tried to run past security.

Among other things, he said, I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.

The state visit of King Charles III and Queen Camilla is going to go on as planned.

Their first official state visit to the United States.

The purpose of the trip was to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America.

They lost that war, so it's nice of them to still celebrate with us.

Buckingham Palace called the visit an opportunity to recognize the shared history of our two nations,

the breadth of the economic security and cultural relationship that has developed since then,

and the deep people-to-people connections which unite communities.
