I felt that there was something there, but the medical profession said, well, there is no such disease.

Headache, pain, neck pain, cognition, word-finding problem.

Problems with vision, it could lead to blindness.

You know, sometimes I feel like telling my patients,

look, if anybody knows what chronic Lyme disease is, it's me.

Over 98% of them are going to be positive by serology.

There is no test that can absolutely rule out Lyme disease.

This whole experience made me feel crazy and like I'm a hypochondriac.

There's so much information out there.

It's very hard for patients to know what's real and what isn't real.

I mean, we question myself a lot.

And there's some very smart people advocating very strongly

some things that aren't true. By the time I first started working on this series last summer, I had read controversies

about the term chronic Lyme disease. I had read that doctors had lost their medical licenses

for prescribing long-term antibiotics.

But I had tackled divisive topics before, so I thought I could figure it out.

Am I right in that? Because I'm just curious from my science.
