That was Apollo is now. It's in Pocchika Texas. It's around the world at all the new spaceports.

That's where Apollo 8 is.

But we need to go through the details.

Because in 1968, there was a war on,

and it was a global war. It was called the Cold War and events had built up to both sides thinking

apocryptically about the other. And then there was the NASA program. NASA was meant to get to the moon

thanks to a speech by President Kennedy early in his time in office, assigning the task to his Vice President Lyndon Johnson.

We now are at the moment where both sides believe they've prepared everything for a circumn lunar mission or even a moon landing

eventually.

It is late 1968.

We need to introduce the three men who will be the astronauts on board Apollo 8 because they come

from a background of war. Frank Borman, William Anders, and Jim Lovell. Let's meet the two oldest, Borman and Lovell.
