0:06.3	202 for Friday, April 3rd. In today's news, America's economic picture is even bleaker than the 10 million unemployment claims filed in March
0:17.6	suggest. Italy and Spain see their first positive indicators, but the EU could be falling apart.
0:25.0	And a 104-year-old beats the coronavirus.
0:30.0	But first, the big idea. The United States coronavirus death toll topped more than 1,000
0:42.0	yesterday alone. We have cemented our position as the new
0:45.7	front line of this terrible contagion with more than 240,000 infections and
0:50.8	about 6,000 total deaths here in the United States.
0:54.0	The number of people infected worldwide passed 1 million yesterday
0:58.0	and the number of people who have died globally rose above 52,000.
1:02.0	New York added more than 430 to its death toll bringing the total
1:05.8	there to more than 2,300. Neighbouring New Jersey added another 180 deaths
1:11.2	bringing its total to 530. Michigan, which is drawing increasing
1:15.8	concern added 80 deaths bringing its total to more than 410. Louisiana saw a
1:21.2	42% increase in the number of confirmed cases yesterday, a spike the governor attributes to reducing the backlog of tests.
1:28.6	The state has 310 deaths.
1:31.6	The Navy's hospital ship in New York, meanwhile, only has 20 patients aboard.
1:37.8	The USNS comforts 1,000 beds are sitting mostly empty, and its 1,200 1200 member crew is waiting around.
1:45.3	This is infuriating local hospitals and doctors.
1:48.8	Another Navy hospital ship, the USNS Mercy,
1:51.9	docked in Los Angeles, only has 15 patients on board.
