She was a beloved professor at the same college where her husband,

Dr. Walter C. Mason, also worked, and by all accounts, she was a well-liked woman who cared

deeply for those who she loved, which is what made the events of April 29, 2002,

all the more chilling. On the day that would change absolutely everything, Walt was at a local

Walmart buying cotton candy for his wife while she was at their Swainsborough home with their young

daughters. She had put them both in the bathtub, and that's where they sat playing while a man

broke into their home and began chasing
