| 0:45.3 | What is the history behind all of this? |
| 0:47.3 | Well, the modern history starts in |
| 0:51.3 | 1966 with the first sightings of the Mothman, which were occurring in Point Pleasant, |
| 1:01.0 | West Virginia, which is on the Ohio River. |
| 1:04.0 | And it intersects with the Kanaugh River there as well, and there were a lot of sightings |
| 1:09.0 | about 50 miles from Point Pleasant, about 50 miles up |
| 1:13.2 | the Konaugh to Charleston, West Virginia. So that was the main area where the sightings were. |
| 1:19.1 | And there was a precursor back in the 1790s in terms of the Mothman. A lot of people believe that there was a chief cornstalk who put |
| 1:31.8 | a curse on the town and that the Mop Man somehow is an outgrowth of that curse. |
| 1:36.9 | Did Chief put a curse on what I would expect is like a European settlement? |
| 1:45.6 | Yes. |
