Summary

Your body is the vehicle for all your drive, so we seek to strengthen it for you in this episode. We live in a culture where many people don’t eat many vegetables, and if they do, they gravitate towards the least beneficial. Food is your best medicine, so here is your guide to getting the most out of your veggies. And the goal? Make veggies half or more of every meal. Not the side. Meat and grains and other are your side. But to vegetables, not all are created equal. In a recent episode, Dr James quipped about his kids going for the most sugar-full veggies like carrots and snap peas and it sparked a listener to ask which veggies were in fact, “better”. We intended to discuss the “better” foods in five categories but found just getting through veggies was a complete episode. To give you some Cliff’s Notes, his “top tier” picks for the most nutrient dense veggies were broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, spinach, cabbage (especially purple) and kale. Tier two? Peas, corn, carrots and okra. Why? You’ll serve yourself well to understand, so in this episode Dr Randy James and I break it down. Quick call out to my new friend, Kathy. She’s been a listener for years, loves these health focused shows I do with Dr James, and this week surprised me by showing up at his practice, True Life Medicine, here in Colorado. She flew in to become a patient.. I came out to see someone in the foyer and she recognized my voice, not realizing my studio is in his office building. We had a great visit. You can check out what Randy can offer you at truelifemedicine.com. Got any questions? Hit me up, [email protected]. OK, next up, Randy and I give you the lowdown on the best veggies.
