Matthew Emmanuel Macon, born September 8th, 1979, had been in and out of prison since 2001, placed behind bars twice alone for parole violations, and serving more than a year and a half for larceny.

And this was just what his record contained since reaching adulthood.

He also had an extensive juvenile criminal history that included two

sexual offenses, breaking and entering, larceny, and the unlawful driving of a vehicle.

He was at a young age already a registered sex offender, having raped a girl with a stick

when he himself was still a teenager.

According to the sources, the home Matthew was raised in was not a good one.

His father was violent, incredibly abusive, and his older sister was placed in a foster care home

in the early 80s after he was accused

of sexually abusing her. So when Matthew began offending as a teenager himself, the courts

placed him in a program in the hopes of turning his life around. Though they noted that he

was making progress, they also indicated that he would require, quote, lifetime vigilance.
