Hello and welcome back to the midpoint guide to hitting your health goals brought to you in

partnership with Lingo by Abbott and my health goal was to have more consistent energy. I find I often have a bit of a slump, maybe post lunch or late afternoon.

And with my work and lifestyle being quite erratic, often I have to peak in the evenings if I have a football match or maybe I'm up in the morning

early doing telly or radio so I need a bit more consistency I don't want those slumps in

energy and I feel like with the help of lingo I am making progress on the road to reaching my health goal

So far I've learned a lot about how perhaps I can eliminate those slumps by adding things to my food for example I talked to Dr. Rupi a little bit about how some yogurt covered rice cakes gave me a huge spike and then a massive slump and maybe if I'd put avocado or maybe some hummus on those rice cakes. I might not have felt that energy crash.

And then of course we have today's episode which is where I'm going to be focusing on

hormones, a topic which we all have experience of to varying degrees, but few of us really fully understand.

For women, as we reach midlife, estrogen starts to decline, and that's a big metabolic hormone.

Many of us will know what this feels like. It can have a number of different impacts on our body.

One common occurrence is that we might start to gain weight. It can also impact how well we process glucose.

Plus, estrogen impacts our hunger hormones. impact how well we process glucose.

as we go through menopause, we might feel hungrier
