Hello, and welcome to the Scriptures or Real Podcast. This is the podcast where we talk about elements of the scriptures that have become real to us because we think that helps us draw more power out of the scriptures and we need all the help we can get.

I'm your host, Kerry Mealstein, and in this, I would call it a short cast, but it probably won't be super short. It'll be medium cast, but it's just me. So that's why we use that phrase. We're going to cover the book of Micah, which is a really important and wonderful book to give you kind of a bullet point list of what we're going to do before we jump in.

0:37.9

We're going to look at who Micah is, when he prophesies, what he says to the House of Israel,

0:42.5

what he says to the House of Judah, the specific sins he accuses them of and look at how those

1:12.5

And we're also going to look at the hope that he holds out in the end.

1:16.1

So with all of that in mind, let's jump in and start to cover Micah.

rains of uzziah jothamam Ahas, and Hezekiah.

1:46.1

And Micah doesn't lift Uzziah as someone he prophesized during his reign,

1:51.8

although we know it's just right at the end of Isaiah that Isaiah prophesied.

1:56.2

But other than that, it's the same list as we get with Isaiah.

1:58.8

It's Jothamah has and Hezekiah.

2:01.7

So they are largely contemporary.

2:03.5

Isaiah seems to start before Micah and go until after Micah.

2:06.2

He has a longer ministry.

2:07.8
