Did you all watch the Grammys?

There are several moments throughout the night that I loved, but it was the opening performance

for me.

I could have just had that as the whole Grammys had been happy.

You had bad bunny open the show surrounded by an entourage of Cabezudos and Plenet dancers,

alongside conga drummers in this brass section.

It was this Merengue Mamba-Fused performance on one of the biggest stages in the world,

and it made history being the first all-spanish opening act at the Grammys ever.

Or, you know, singing in non-English if you had the captions on.

It felt like such a proud moment, though, to have so much tradition and Latin sound

headline such a big event.

If this is hardly the first time Merengue has taken center stage among American mainstream

music, you've probably been listening and bopping along to Merengue without even realizing

it.

A total crowd-pleaser and the Merengue hit known around the world.

I'm new here, and there's a lot you and I still have to get to know about each other.

But a song like Suave Minte really sets the stage for me to share something pretty

fundamental about myself.
