Romans chapter 6. The thing about Romans in general, when you study Romans, it's a very specific study in the way that God relates to man.

It's almost a formulistic book that is to say there is the danger when you read Romans

of looking at it just as a series of formulas

or a series of logical exercises.

You're really talking about the love of God.

But the love of God, when translated to the human level, is incredibly complex, so complex we can't

possibly understand it, therefore we have to settle for a view of God that will match our

own mental capability, which is far below his. So God has done that. God has actually sent a messenger by the name of Paul, who can

translate the mind of God down to the level of human beings. So what we've got here is the love

of God expressed on a level that human perception can actually deal with.

Moses asked for God to show himself.

Moses said, you know, show me what you look like.

God said, no man can see me and live.

And that's somewhat the problem we still have.

We want to see God, and yet at this level, we're nowhere near

capable of seeing and perceiving him, yet through his love, he has allowed us to see what we need to

see. Well, that's Romans 6, and Romans 6 is talking about the believer's death to sin. And it's talking about the

mechanics of the spirit-filled life. And it's been pointed out, I'm not sure, but I think

Kenneth Weist of Moody Bible Institute was the first one to point it out back in the 50s

when he wrote a book. He was a Greek professor, and he was very interested in getting it right in terms of the
