Is there a hidden more esoteric deeper meaning to the Hollywood films that we all love

to watch?

And I'm Jay Widener, and this is Hollywood Decoded. The Matrix is a very esoteric, philosophically heavy trilogy from the Wikowskies.

And we chose it because it deals with these perennial themes like Plato's allegory of the cave.

Yeah, like the lights flickering on the wall, the people that are caught in the Matrix think

that they're actually watching reality, but they're really not.

And that Morpheus comes in and he shatters Neo's reality and turns him into what he became.

So it's a great movie.

It's about redemption and the Gnostic ideas that were being controlled by a demiurge, a false

God, and we're embedded in a false reality.

So in this scene we're going to see the white rabbit and how it relates to the simulacra

and simulation.

There's a lot of stuff going on in this scene.

So we noticed that Neo, we didn't see it,

but he's actually doing his hacking stuff.

And he gets an IM from Trinity, and it's leading him

to go to this club and ultimately meet her.

But if you pay attention, he's actually

scrolling through news stories that deal with this mysterious

terrorist, as he's described in the mainstream news, known as Morpheus.
