0:43.0	In 1970, a guy named Francis Schaefer

0:48.9	And the message of the book was simple and revolutionary
0:51.6	at the same time. He said that the distinguishing mark of a
0:54.4	Christian is love. A Christian isn't known by what they wear or the bumper stickers on their
0:58.6	car or how they vote. A Christian is known by their love. Jesus said in John 13,
1:04.0	by this everyone will know that you are my disciples
1:07.0	if you love one another.
1:08.0	I want to define Christian maturity
1:11.0	by what I know, like by knowing the right doctrine, the right theology, because that
1:15.3	allows me to just read the right books and take the right classes, listen to the right
1:19.4	podcast, it leaves me in control. For a long time in my Christian life I thought a Christian
1:25.1	was known by their doing and so I did a lot. I was always busy trying to do more
1:30.2	for Jesus or at least I told myself I was doing it for Jesus. I was probably more doing it for myself to be honest.
1:37.0	In that season of my life I was learning and doing learning, learning, doing more learning and more doing.
