The title of the book is The Man Eaters of Tsavo and other East African adventures by John Henry Patterson.

It was written in 1907 and details events of his that he experienced in present-day Kenya, building a bridge over the River

Savo and his basically attempt to kill man-eating lions. The lines that he ended up killing

but John Henry Patterson also had a pretty colorful life. He was known as the godfather

of both the Israeli army, and he was the literal godfather of Benjamin Netanyahu's brother,

There's a biography about Patterson by Dennis Bryan. The title is The Seven Lives of

of Colonel Patterson. And he was born in Irishman. He was born in 1867 in Forge,

Ney, Ireland. His mother was a Roman Catholic. His father was a Protestant. He studied and graduated as an officer in the British Army.

And with an emphasis on engineer, he was sent to Kenya. Like I said, the Savo River spelled T-S-A-V-O river in present-day Kenya during the colonial competition with other imperialist forces, namely Germany.
