Who is around you when you’re feeling hurt? Who is there to listen to you when you need to talk to someone? Unfortunately, it’s all too common to feel isolated when you’re suffering from narcissistic abuse or you’re trying to heal. I felt isolated for so long, and I want you to know that it does not have to be that way.
What you will learn in this episode:
How to find a community that understands you.
Why there are always people who will help you and how to find them.
A way to discover the people in your life that will help you heal.
I spent a lot of time during and after going through narcissistic abuse feeling alone, and it made it even worse when I went to friends and family to look for validation of my feelings and they didn’t truly believe or understand what I was feeling. Fortunately, I now understand that there is no reason at all to feel lonely because of what you’ve experienced, and I hope this episode can help you find the community you need.

0:51.4 | It's your weekly dose of hopefully inspiration, hope and altogether knowledge that |
0:57.5 | it is not your fault. And you're hopefully slowly starting to realize that the relationship that |
1:03.8 | you have with the narcissist, whether it be a parent, a partner, a friend, co-worker, really is |
1:10.7 | not a reflection of you. And I think that's one of the |
1:14.0 | key things that I really had to learn that other people's behaviour was never ever a reflection |
1:18.9 | of myself. So I want to share in this podcast today something that I think is really, really important |
1:25.4 | as part of your healing process. And that is |
1:29.0 | not being on your own, connection, community. And one of the things that I really found when I was |
1:35.5 | firstly recognizing I'd been in a covert narcissistic marriage over 10 years ago, but was the |
1:41.1 | fact that nobody understood what I was going through. |
1:44.6 | And as much as I really tried to talk to people about it, I was met with raised eyebrows, |
1:50.8 | tuts, really that feeling of not being believed that in some way I may have been over-exaggerating |
1:56.9 | because they maybe didn't see what I had experienced. |
2:00.6 | Because as we all know, narcissists are very |
2:02.4 | good at hiding things behind closed doors, especially covert narcissists. And, you know, |
2:07.8 | I had hardly been on Facebook myself over 10 years ago. Obviously, those who follow me now know I'm |
