Summary
In this story originally written by Hans Christian Anderson and later made popular by Disney, a young mermaid dreams of what life would be like as a human, and soon makes a deal with the sea witch to trade her mermaid existence for that as a human- having to give up the ability to speak in the bargaining. The story ends much differently than the movie, and teaches a powerful lesson about what can happen when you make a deal with the devil.
