Hope you guys all had a great New Year's, a Merry Christmas.

I know we sure enjoyed our time off,

and we're right back at it. So unfortunately, over the past weekend, we are now missing. It feels like something's missing from the church. So Pope Benedict 16th has passed away at the age of 95.

So he was the Pope for eight years from 2005 to 2013. And I know

personally it's been really interesting to see the response to this news. It almost feels like

people lost something, especially to someone who is not currently the sitting pope, but people

had such a unique love for him. Why do you think there was this almost emotional

reaction, I'd have to say, from most of the world? I think it was completely emotional, not even

almost, right? It was totally emotional. Like guttural. It was very, almost like a visceral reaction.

Gutteral, right, like a gut punch to hear the news. I mean, you know, someone's 95.

You know, they're not long for this world.

And he'd been declining for several years.

And I think that his short papacy, those eight years made such an impact on the church,

both in terms of continuing John Paul

the 2nd's own work following Vatican 2. And of course, hit the amazing work that he did in

liturgical reform, which, you know, I think welcomed so many people back to the church who were maybe disaffected
