Summary

In 1855, when women and children began disappearing from Choctaw settlements in Oklahoma, a band of thirty warriors led by Joshua LeFlore rode out to hunt down the kidnappers. What they discovered at that earthen mound deep in the wilderness wasn't human—and the battle that followed would be buried from official history for over a century.

IN THIS EPISODE: Did you hear about the time Bigfoot and humans went to war against each other? It supposedly did happen in real life and I’ll tell you the story! (The Leflore County Bigfoot War) *** The body of 25-year-old Jason Chase was found several weeks after he had gone missing – but the cause of his death was a mystery to everyone for almost twenty years. (The Eerie Death of Hiker Jason Chase) *** There are people in life that you just would rather not deal with. Wouldn’t be great if you could just put them on ice and let some other future generation deal with that person? Well, aside from the morally unacceptable actions you’d have to take to make that happen, the technology for doing so might not be too far away. Some of the ulta-wealthy are making plans to be brought back to life later, or to live for a very long time, or… even to be immortal. (How The Super Rich Plan To Live Forever) *** Soon after moving into their quaint Massachusetts country home in 1981, Lui and Dale Passetto encountered a force of pure evil that almost destroyed them and their family. (The Passetto Family Possession) *** On August 29, 1890, a 16-year-old boy named Otto Lueth was hanged at the Ohio State Penitentiary in Columbus. He had been tried and convicted of the murder of Maggie Thompson, age 9 – a murder for which he had shown no remorse. It is a sad and tragic story… but also one of utter horror. (Otto Leuth and the Girl in the Cellar)

Hi, I'm Darren Marler, host of the Weird Darkness podcast. I'd like to talk to you about

0:07.5

something that's very near and dear to my heart, my career. We've had a great run with

0:14.6

weird darkness, and this October we'll celebrate 10 years doing this show. Ten years.

0:21.8

We've had great reviews, a great response from amazing listeners like you.

0:27.4

But unfortunately, now, we're not as well known as we could be.

0:32.8

What that means is that I won't be able to win meaningless and irrelevant podcast awards. I won't be

0:39.3

able to humble brag on newly acquired accolades and magazine article interviews. I won't reach

0:45.6

one million subscribers. And who wants to live in a world like that? Did you know that for the

0:53.6

price of a single bag of weird dark roast coffee and a weird

0:57.4

darkness mug, or the price of clothing yourself with a weird darkness t-shirt or

1:02.3

hoodie, that you can help me buy 0.01% of an ad on Google?

1:08.2

It's true, and it's just that easy. Share the podcast. Get involved. Your small

1:16.1

act of sharing with only 10, 20, or even 50,000 friends and loved ones can bring this

1:23.3

podcast to literally tens of people. Isn't that what's most important in this world? Get involved.

1:33.0

Share the podcast with others. Use your social media, email, and text to promote each and every

1:40.2

episode I release. Further the cause.

1:46.8

Help Weird Darkness reach more listeners.

1:50.7

And help make me less obscure.

1:52.6

Thank you.

1:54.8

Hey, is that good?

1:58.0

Yeah, I tried to fake sounding sincere as best I could.

1:59.6

I don't think this is going to work, though.
