Big Jim Murray just gave it to you in the update. If you're watching on the simulcast, you missed it. So, Murray, why don't you repeat yourself, please? The first thing, the big news of the day is that the Panthers traded quarterback Teddy Bridgewater the Denver Broncos in exchange for a sixth round pick. And would you like the betting analyst for this? That's what I'm talking about. Okay, yes, Nesson's betting analyst. He tweeted in the last 10 minutes, want to get his name right. I think it's Sam Paniottovich. He tweeted Justin Fields, the Ohio State quarterback, now favored to be drafted by the Patriots at multiple American sports books. A lot of things have to go their way, obviously, but bookmakers are bracing for Bill Belichick to make a move.

The market tells a story.

Okay, so there are just two divergent paths here.

One is the inevitability of Garoppolo coming back to New England.

That's according to Tommy Curran and some others.

I think that's clearly the path there.

That's what I, you know, not just want them to do, but I think, I think that's what's happening. And as Teddy Bridgewater goes to Carolina, you've got another domino that falls. That doesn't involve Garoppolo, the Patriots, or the Niners. And so, again, feels like they're going to be the last dance partners left for each other. And that sort of adds the inevitability there. But then the other

path is this. The Patriots trading up for Justin Fields. There's just been multiple reports that

the Patriots have been making calls and clearing out, well, deals, if you will. Burr-Brier said

yesterday, they've been sniffing around. The Carolina Panthers at number eight.

And then today we've got Jeff Howe in the athletic saying they've been sniffing around the Falcons at number four.

Again for Justin Fields.

Howe writes, the New England Patriots pursuit of a franchise quarterback has not slowed in the final days and hours before the NFL draft.

After numerous conversations with sources around the league, it's clear the Patriots are still candidates to move up into the top 10 picks of the draft.

And that's hardly the only drama surrounding the well-hyped class of quarterback.

Specifically with the Patriots, these trade discussions are a strong indication.

They found conviction in at least one of those top quarterbacks.

And word is, they think highly of Ohio State's Justin Fields,

highly enough that they've even spoken with the Atlanta Falcons about the fourth pick.

Okay.

That would surprise me. I don't think that's what they would do. It doesn't feel like them. And I think those are canards. I think those are smokescreens. To what end? I don't know. Who knows? And I think the smokescreen stuff is just so overrated. Like Bill's playing chess and everyone else is playing checkers.
