You know that this was a very challenging, difficult day. You know, we went through a lot last night with Keith Carter trying to figure out a way, you know, to make this playoff, you know, run work and be able to coach the team. And at the end of the day, that's his decision. And I totally respect that. I understand that decision. And, you know, so I just totally wish the team the best of luck,

wish that I was coaching, but understand that it was a very challenging position for him

the chance to be in and totally respect that. So, you know, just really, really hope they

play really well and go win the national championship.

Lane Kiffin yesterday, that was an interview before he left for the LSU press

conference with Marty Smith from ESPN. The press conference, his introductory press

conference at LSU was a lot about the last 48 to 72 hours in Oxford, Mississippi.

He said a lot of things about it.

Look, my view on Lane Kiffin, leaving Ole Miss to take the job at LSU, another SEC school,

with still another, you know, three weeks before the first playoff game. It'll be a playoff game

in Oxford. They'll host a first round playoff game. It'll be honestly one of the most

significant sporting events in the history of that state. It's not an exaggeration. They've

not been in this position ever. You might go back to the

Archie Manning years in the 60s and say they looked like a national championship contender,

and I guess they were to a certain extent, but it's been basically 60 years since Ole Miss

has had this opportunity. By the way, they're not going to, you know, cancel the game because

Lane Kiffin's taking another gig. They're still going to play it. It's still going to be a massive

event in Oxford. It's just not going to include the guy that's most responsible for creating

that sporting event, the playoff game in this 12-team expanded playoffs.

So, look, my view on this Lane Kiffin thing is probably, I'm guessing, a minority

viewpoint.
