So if you have your Bibles, we'll waste no time.

Let's get straight into it because we have a lot of ground to cover, even though we don't

have a lot of verses, we have a lot of ground to cover.

So go ahead and turn to Matthew chapter 5 tonight.

We're going to be in verses 3 through 12.

And the title of our message, go ahead and note it down, is the kingdom code. The kingdom code.

And if you're already there, you see that we're going to be in the beatitudes tonight.

And you're not going to find the word beatitude used in Matthew 5, 3 through 12, but it is still

an absolutely appropriate way of referring to this text.

And why is that?

Well, because a beatitude is a condition or a declaration of blessedness.

And here we will see Jesus make eight declarations of blessedness.

He will identify who is blessed, and he will identify why they are blessed.

Now, the beatitudes depict the nature and character of kingdom citizens.

And naturally, we ought to ask, well, citizens of what kingdom?

Well, really, there's only two to choose from.

The first is the kingdom of Satan.

The kingdom of Satan.

Now, we were in a pastor's meeting the other day and we were talking about an author who

refuses to capitalize the S in Satan.

And I encourage you to jump on that team with us because I don't think he deserves a capital

S anymore.
