I'm a long-time fan of yours.

I think you're a sane, smart voice,

and I've always really enjoyed your work.

How did you get into this thing of ours?

Well, thank you.

The feeling is definitely mutual.

You know, I think journalism really found me.

I was not one of those people who went out seeking a career in journalism.

I was not writing for the college paper or anything,

but I was always a conservative in big liberal institutions, whether I grew up in Minnesota,

very liberal state, and I ended up at Yale, very liberal university, living in New York City. So, you know,

I was always sort of making trouble on campus from when I, from the moment I got there. And when I

was on campus in New Haven, you know, I was, I believe the same things I do now. And I ended up tangling with

professors and taking issue with professors who at the time, you know, we had just invaded Iraq,
