Our guest today is the inspiring Dr. Kelly McGonigal and she is here to talk about her new book, The Joy of Movement. Dr. McGonigal is a professor at Stanford University, where she is immersed in the study and practice of movement and exercise as foundational aspects of human flourishing. She teaches a dance class and is involved in many other initiatives helping people from all different backgrounds and areas of life, find joy and health through motion. Dr. McGonigal tells us a bit about her book, the inspiration behind it and who she imagines it helping the most.

Maybe they don't enjoy it. Maybe the story they tell themselves is that they hate it, they dislike it, or whatever it may be. The reality is Dr. Kelly McGonigal is here to tell us about why it's part of

It's important to know, though, why all these things are true. And it's not that

move. There's actually physiological reasons for this, psychological reasons, neurochemical reasons,

as to why humans have evolved to be rewarded to move. So exercise is, without a shadow of a doubt, health enhancing,

life extending, and it shouldn't feel like a chore. It should feel like a reward. It should feel

like a necessity of life. It should feel like something that is invigorating and fills our soul

and ultimately allows our body and our mind
