Now we're going to circle back to what we were discussing earlier.

The L.A. County supervisors may actually want to build a new jail or something like a jail.

It might have a, they don't only use the word jail, but somewhere where you could put bad guys behind walls and bars.

Because the men's central jail someday has to be demolished.

It's really in disgusting condition.

And for five years, they said,

well, actually, they had a number of plans. And eventually they said, no, no, we're going to,

we're going to bulldoze it and not replace it with anything. No jail. No jail in L.A.

getting their minds now. We got Michael Monks, KFI News, to explain. Michael, what's going on? Hey, good afternoon,

John. You nailed it pretty much there. It does seem that there's a change of tune at the Kenneth

Hahn, L.A. County Government building here downtown in L.A. because, as you noted, just a few years

ago, this board of supervisors or the makeup of it at that time had decided that we don't need this

jail anymore. This was amid the social justice movement and calls for change in the way criminal

justice is handled in this country and particularly here in LA County. And so it rode in on this wave of
